technical guide & best practices
How AI Assistants Decide Who You Are
Before an AI assistant can recommend a business, it has to be sure which business it is talking about. It reconciles the name on the site, the Organization schema, the profiles that schema links to, and knowledge bases such as Wikidata. When those agree, the business is easy to identify. When they disagree (an old domain in the schema, a different name on LinkedIn, a Wikidata item pointing elsewhere), the model hedges, or recommends a competitor it is surer about. This checker reads your homepage's Organization schema, requests every profile it links to, and compares it with Wikidata.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from a schema markup validator?
A validator checks that your JSON-LD is well-formed and eligible for Google's rich results. This checks identity: whether the Organization schema, your profiles and Wikidata all describe the same organization, and whether the links between them work.
Why are my LinkedIn and Facebook links marked "not measured"?
Social platforms answer automated requests the same way whether a profile exists or not (Facebook returns an error for every page; LinkedIn returns status 999), so requesting them proves nothing. Check those links by hand.
Do I need a Wikidata item?
No, and not every organization qualifies under Wikidata's notability rules. But if one exists, it is among the most widely used sources of facts about organizations, so it should point at your site and use your current name.
Which page does it check?
Your homepage, whatever URL you enter. That is where the Organization schema that represents the whole site usually lives.
