AI Visibility Check for Chrome: SEO inspector and AI audit

The AI Visibility Check extension puts two things next to the page you’re on: an SEO inspector for that page, and an AI visibility audit of its whole site.

Add to Chrome — free · Chrome 116 or later, and other Chromium browsers that use the Chrome Web Store.

This page: inspect it in your browser

Click the toolbar icon (or press Alt+Shift+A) and the side panel shows how search engines and AI assistants read the page:

  • a search-result preview, with title and meta description lengths
  • the heading outline, with skipped levels and extra H1s flagged
  • every structured-data (JSON-LD) block, its types and any parse errors
  • Open Graph and X card previews
  • canonical, robots meta, language, viewport and hreflang
  • the site’s robots.txt, and a sitemap explorer that follows sitemap indexes
  • images without alt text, internal and external links, word count
  • the raw tags, to copy or export as JSON or Markdown

The workspace inspects any URL you paste, keeps a history on your device, and compares up to three pages side by side. None of this needs an account, and none of it is sent to us.

Whole site: an AI visibility audit

Switch to Whole site and choose an audit:

  • Quick audit — the homepage, in about a minute. Free.
  • Full audit — the whole site, rendered in a real browser, checked against outside sources, and with real questions put to AI assistants about the business and its competitors. About seven minutes; uses one of your account’s full audits.

The panel shows the score, the headline and the top actions, with a link to the full report on the website. Close the panel during a full audit and Chrome tells you when it is ready.

Audits need a free account. The first time, the extension opens our sign-in page in a tab; sign in or create the account there (new accounts agree to the terms first), confirm that the extension may act for you, and the tab closes itself.

What you pay

Nothing in the extension. Quick audits are free. A free account starts with three full audits and gets one more each month; after that you can buy more on the website, never inside the extension — see pricing.

What it can access, and what it sends

The extension asks for only what it needs:

Permission Why
Active tab Reads the tab you clicked, when you click, and that site’s robots.txt and sitemaps. No other tab or site.
Scripting Runs one read-only function in that tab to collect the title, meta tags, headings, links and structured data. It never changes the page.
Side panel Shows the results next to the page.
Storage Your settings, your local inspection history and the audits being watched. Stays on your device.
Alarms and notifications Checks a running full audit and tells you when it is done.
aivisibilitycheck.io Our API, which runs audits and returns their results.

There are no content scripts, no remote code, no advertising and no analytics. When you start an audit, the extension sends us the address of the site to audit, and we handle it exactly as an audit started on this website. If you sign in, it holds your account’s email address and an access token, encrypted in your browser. The privacy notice has the details.

Disconnect or remove it

  • Sign out in the extension, or press Disconnect next to it under Connected apps on your account page. Either ends its access at once.
  • Remove it from Chrome’s Extensions page. Your local history goes with it.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Chrome extension free?

Yes. The page inspector is free and needs no account. Audits use your AI Visibility Check account: quick audits are free, and full audits come from the same allowance as on the website. Nothing is sold inside the extension.

Does the extension read every page I visit?

No. It reads a page only when you click its icon or press Alt+Shift+A, and only that tab. It has no content scripts and no access to other sites.

What does the extension send to AI Visibility Check?

Inspecting a page sends nothing: it is read on your device. When you start an audit, the extension sends the address of the site to be audited, as if you had started it on the website. No browsing history, no page content, no advertising, no analytics.

How do I disconnect it from my account?

Sign out in the extension, or press Disconnect next to it under Connected apps on your account page. Either revokes its access at once.
